The birthmark she has under her chin can still be found there as a black. Her mane and tail are black like her hair and her eyes seem to be an even darker shade.
general appearance; Lin is around five feet six inches and has a slim build. Her skin has a light tan that matches her coat in her other form. Her almond-shaped eyes seem deep and don't betray emotions very often. She doesn't really care about what she wears as long as she feels comfortable in it and it looks decent. She really dislikes wearing any kind of skirt or dress so she'll only where it on a special occasion. She likes wearing her hair down, but sometimes she'll where it in a bun with chopsticks. She likes to wear lots of jeans and that's almost the only kind of pants/shorts she will wear.

secrets; She badly wants this war to end despite the neutral front she usually shows.
overall personality; Lin doesn't like arguments in general. Although she prefers to talk things out arguing seems to be something a really aggressive person would do. Lin is fairly polite around her higher ups, however she is much more casual around others. Meaning she loves to outsmart people and tease them. She knows when to stop, but sometimes it can get a bit out of hand. Lin is very kind in general and is the type to easily forgive. However those who really tick her off will face her indifference over their misfortunes and she will not lift a finger to help them. Lin can be serious when she feels the moment calls for it and can at times be sarcastic. She is a very loyal person to her friends and can read emotions pretty well.
Lin dislikes the war although she shows indifference toward it. She never liked fighting much, even though she loves martial arts. She is intelligent and has wisdom so she is one of the advisors to the empress. She will however use her wit to outsmart people and to tease them. She thinks certain matters of importance through and thinks about how it will affect the pride she loves. Sometimes she thinks too much about it and ends up being indecisive about the given situation. Lin tries her best not to make regretful decisions because she doesn't want to let people down. She'll play music to get her thoughts in order or she will fiddle with her earring or hair. The earring/hair-fiddling is also a quirk she uses when she feels uncomfortable because it makes her feel secure. She loves reading to the point where she can walk in a crowd and read at the same time without bumping into anyone. Her mother being a librarian started the habit so she sometimes will wonder around reading a book without listening to anyone.

mother; Maling Li, shifter mouse, 56, librarian
father; Jieke (Jack) Wu, shifter hawk, 59, guard
sisters; none
brothers; none
other family; none
overall history;
Lin's parents met when her mother was walking around carrying around new books for the library and bumped into Lin's father. Afterwards they started meeting each other together in the library and fell in love. After a couple of years of dating, they got married and had a Lin a few years later. Lin's mother made sure Lin read a lot and helped develop Lin's love for books. Her father introduced her to martial arts so she could defend herself when she started walking around the city by her self.
For a time, Lin would change during the most inconvenient of times. Once she changed while her mother was in her mouse form and nearly stepped on her. After a while she gained control of her shifting and no other incidents occurred. During that time her mother would have her help carry books since she could carry more in her horse form. Her parents tried to make sure Lin stayed neutral about the war. They didn't want their only daughter to pick a side and possibly get killed. The casualties of the war were piling up and Shifter losses didn't need a body count.
When she was around seventeen, Lin proved to be a good advisor so that became her job. Although she was young, she had an open mind and was able to come up with fair solutions to a few problems. Her parents were very pleased at this and supported her. Lin spent much of her time around the city and learned more and more about the vampires, werewolves, dragons, and casters. It was basic information, but it still intrigued her. As Lin read more, she began to think more about the various problems.
Knowledge is power, and sometimes it can be a heavy burden. Lin found out about how ugly the war was. It saddened her greatly and made her want to find a way to end it. However each side was not willing to listen to the other. Some were lost in bloodlust while others were too prideful. Lin decided to keep a neutral front and continued to wish for the warring parties to come to a compromise.
When Lin turned eighteen, her parents told her that they had saved enough money for her to have her own house closer to the city. She had spent so much time there that they decided she was old enough to live on her own. So now she has home near the city and is continuing to be an advisor for the empress and is spending time socializing with others in the city.

The sun was shining brightly and the city was bustling with activity. It was the middle of the afternoon and Lin decided she should go and find another book. Something that was new and interesting. Lin locked her house and pocketed her keys before shifting into her horse form and trotting to the nearest bookstore.
Her house was about a mile away from the city, which wasn't too bad by her standards. After she was a couple of blocks away, she shifted back and continued walking along the way. On the other side of the street, she saw a couple of dragons fighting each other. Probably trying to see who's stronger or perhaps one insulted the other. Well whatever the reason, she was not here to contemplate why two violent dragons were brawling.
Once she found the bookshop, she walked in and headed for the mystery section of the store. It had been a while since she read a good mystery. Lin considered the shelves thoughtfully. She fiddled with her earring as her eyes scanned the books on the shelves. What to choose, what to choose. Eventually Lin gave up and just picked a random book. At this point any kind of book would do. After purchasing the book she walked outside and began to read.
Using her peripheral vision, Lin walked around people as she turned the pages of her book. The sounds of people talking and doors opening and closing were familiar sounds she heard around the city. Children laughing and running by was another familiarity. After a while Lin found that it had become quiet. Looking up from her book she found that she was alone in a more run down part of the city. Caution would be needed here. Lin closed her book and began on her way. She was adept at martial arts so she wouldn't have to worry about attackers, much. Since she was a shifter she wouldn't really have to worry about being killed on sight if she ran into anyone else who wasn't a shifter.
Something felt off in the atmosphere though. Or was that just a figment of her imagination? Lin began to twirl her hair, the lack of sound was really getting to her. Just when she though she was lost, Lin saw a familiar street and continued on. Eventually it led out to the city hall. A wave of relief came over her. She was glad there wasn't a thief that intercepted her. Ah well, she may as well count her luck.
Lin decided to enter the hall and read there. It was probably safer than reading outside where she could possibly wander off again. Then again, it could get noisy if people started to argue about who's right or wrong. However she could then hear more about each side's argument better. Brilliant. Another decision with both pros and cons. What would she rather do? Read or listen in on arguing vampires and werewolves? What to do, what to do…
