Iris said loudly enough for everyone in the small bar to hear. There were a few snickers sent her way, as well as a few dirty looks from the vampire's group, but she shrugged them all off. She was feeling particularly invincible tonight and didn't really care that the big ugly guys were giving her the stink eye. She merely turned the other way, surveying the left side of the bar now for possible flirting options. She was quickly growing bored of the bar, however, and decided she might as well head out. She leapt lightly to the ground and winked at the guy she had just finished insulting, clearly quite pleased with herself. She straightened the scarlet sheath of a dress that she wore, which left nothing to the imagination, and picked her black clutch up off of the bar top. "I'd say good day, but, really, it hasn't been. Have fun!" She turned on her black four inch heels and walked calmly out of the bar, determined to find some excitement. Once outside, she stopped the whole charade of being completely in control and let her features fall into a slight frown. She was worried, very worried lately, concerned about what she was going to do with the rest of her life. She couldn't continue this reckless cycle of teasing guys and then pushing them away the minute they got too close, no, that was getting pointless. The thing was, she was scared to do anything beyond kissing with any of them, scared of letting them touch her. She had been abused when she was young and by a past boyfriend, so that resonated deep into her bones. She still flinched sometimes, when people got too close, but she usually tried to hide that. It was stupid to still have those fears, stupid and useless. So, that was why Ivy was trying to beat those habits out of herself, hoping to make a better life for herself. She didn't realize she had started shaking until the shaking became so violent she had to stop walking. It wasn't that she was cold, no, it was that she was terrified again. She had to remind herself that, after being turned at sixteen, she was stronger now, and was much more capable of protecting herself if the time should come. To distract herself, Ivy decided to feed. First, however, she would need a target. She stopped in her tracks once more, this time sniffing the air carefully. To her left and down an alley, there was a very un-vampire scent. She couldn't tell what, just yet, so she continued to move towards it, her mind slipping into the bloodthirsty animal like state, readying itself for action. She was finally able to recognize the scent of a caster, probably sent here to retrieve one of the herbs that the vampires were known for. It was a risk but, usually, casters came during the day and were able to pick the herb without a problem. This caster, however, had come far too late and hadn't even considered their safety at all, merely waltzing down the street. Iris was on top of her in a second, pinning her to the ground beneath her lean but muscle filled body. She grinned down at the girl, not bothering with anything more than that as she sunk her teeth into the delicate skin at the base of the witch's throat. Pure joy overtook Ivy as she listened to the girl's screams, and she bit down harder. If anyone tried to steal this kill from her, she was going to kill them as well, plain and simple. Can we pretend that airplanes in the night sky- - - - - - - - - - - - are like shooting stars
Most of the vampires didn’t even know what their new leader looked like. On purpose, Demetrius had not stuck himself in the lime light for long. If he had shown himself to the world time and time again – surely the werewolves and casters would single him out. The only people who knew who he looked like were the rare occasional few who got into the house… and met him face to face as the leader. So really, people did know him – they just didn’t know it was him. So basically no one ever really connected two and two together. Demetrius had left the house. Part of him wanted to go hunting, and another part just wanted the fresh air. Against his advisor’s better judgment’s, he had left the building. Now he was just hanging around the streets, not really talking to anyone in particular (seeing as Demetrius was probably the definition of anti-social) strange that he was a leader. Perhaps it was the fact that he was the only one with the courage and guts to take the initiative and stand up to everyone. Then again, he was probably also running the vampiric race right into the ground with his asinine attitude, though he was highly intellectual, he did had his stubborn moments – such as when he told the shifter empress to piss off. Truly, he had to be an insane man.
Then again, he honestly had no urge to keep every vampire alive. Perhaps it was the rivalry of having to compete with hundreds of other vampires which was the reason he was willing to kill so many. Less vampires on the Earth meant less competition: the only one who really needed to come out of this entire… war was himself right? As long as he survived the battles, everything was golden. Which reminded him – he was hungry. Normally, the advisors would bring him some caster or something to devour, but there was no fun in that. Where was the fun in eating without the hunting? Watching the horrified look on caster’s faces as he came upon them and completely drained them of life… it was far too precious to him to allow the foolish advisors to keep finding his food for him. He wanted to do it himself. So here he was now, running through the city, smelling out his dinner. Caster’s were rare in this fair city. They preferred to keep to their own territory. They had good reason to, but then there were the rare… curious ones. Demetrius could smell one. Smell a caster for him to drain. He started running fast, jumping from roof to roof until he smelt them below. He grabbed onto the chimney of the building he was on and slid down it, coming to a complete stop at the bottom. However, to his dismay – he came upon a feasting vampire.
Now, he had to think: should he start shit? Oh yes, he should start shit. Starting shit was always… just so… invigorating. He smirked and walked over, putting his hand on the female vampire’s back, he tapped her a few times. “Get lost. This one is mine now.” Ha. Yeah right, he could already smell another caster not too far away, but pissing someone off, well it was just too tempting and too much fun to pass up. (Though, because he didn’t find this one first, it was clearly not a fun hunt, just a fun harassment argument about to come on, he wasn’t sure which one he honestly took more pleasure in causing.) And besides, he could get this girl into a whole hell of a lot of trouble if he really wanted to, and oh yes: he wanted to.

Most of the time, when a vampire claimed a kill, the others steered clear of the feeding area. It was partially out of respect and partially a survival tactic - most vampires were smart enough to realize that, if a vampire was in the middle of a kill, they were not going to be in their kindest state of mind. Therefore, Iris was not too worried about being bothered, so she wasn't really on the defensive. Instead, she focused on the feeding process, taking it slowly, enjoying the sensation as blood rushed from the woman's delicate veins down her thirsty throat. A low moan built up from somewhere deep in her throat, and she began to get down to the last few 'sips' of blood. It was at this point that she usually took a breather, in order to savor the last few tastes. However, she was so into this particular feeding that she had almost finished with the woman - she was down to maybe a pint or two of blood within her entire body - before she paused.
It wasn't because she was tired, no. She heard a voice before her and instantly sprang, a loud hiss escaping her throat. She faced her opponent, a fellow vampire, one that she didn't recognize. She didn't need to say anything, she was sure her face, dark eyes glinting with rage, and her twisted lips, showed all the rage that needed to be said. She moved into a crouch in front of the body before she even considered speaking a word to him, a small tear going up the side of her skin tight dress. Blood pooled on the ground as it dripped form her lips, and she licked them carefully before speaking. "I'm only going to say this once, so you'd better listen. Get. The fuck. Away. From Me. This kill is mine, and it's practically drained anyway. I swear to hell, I will kill you, sever your head, and burn it where you stand if you do not remove your pathetic little body from my sight in the next five seconds." She threatened him, because she felt threatened herself. She wasn't about to give up her kill, and she knew he could probably tell that she wasn't joking.
She moved into a standing position now, in no way ready to turn her back to this man. She really, really wanted to finish draining this body, however, she knew better than to leave her back unprotected. That was a survival tactic that even the most ignorant vampire was probably aware of. Therefore, she simply glared at the male, hoping to scare him off. She was glad for the four inch heels, and not only because they made her five feet seven inches instead of her usual five three, but because she could tear one of them off and shove it into his eye socket in about point two seconds. She was not about to back down from this kill, so he should just leave. It wasn't even that the woman was nearly drained, no, even if Iris had barely began feeding, she wouldn't give up her kill. It was just the whole point, the whole idea that this woman was her's. That was how it was supposed to be. That's how it usually was. The fact that this man had even had the audacity to try to steal her kill was unusual, and she wasn't going to have it. She was prepared to stand her ground, no matter what happened.

Can we pretend that airplanes in the night sky- - - - - - - - - - - - are like shooting stars
Demetrius had put up his guard; preparing himself for her to attack, incase she did. It was amusing, watching how protective she was over her food. He smirked at her response, the way she moved, and he heard the tear of her dress. His eyes flashed to where the split had begun. For a moment he was silent, his eyes searching over the side of her where the opening was. Female vampires never seemed to understand how to dress. They always wore tight clothing that was easily ruined. It seemed like common sense ran low in the female vampire population. Perhaps their turning had something to do with it. He mused over the thought. With a single movement, he stepped back. True the girl caster was good as dead already, but starting shit with other vampires was just too much fun to pass up. He tilted his head to the side and stared at the body now, ignoring her entirely. She threatened him. How amusing. He had a feeling that she didn’t realize who she was dealing with. Not that he really minded, because a good fight was always welcome.
“You think you can kill me woman?” He laughed out, even if she wasn’t joking, he found her insults and threats to be a joke (blame it on the fact that he had a pretty decent sized ego) “I doubt you could catch me. Speed is on my side, age more than likely as well,” he mused out loud, still watching her. Now though, he started to walk around her, studying her from every angle, circling her. “Pathetic? M’dear you don’t even know.” He laughed his sarcastic laugh. His laugh was never… “regular” if you will, or light in the slightest. Nothing could make him laugh his honest laugh. He hadn’t laughed an honest laugh since he was a baby. “I don’t want your food anymore, my interest in this entire situation has, in fact, died.” he waved his hand, giving a bored look. “It appears you’re dull and certainly not a lady.” Insults. Using insults. Provoking with insults (at least he hoped it’d provoke her). “Seems pretty useless to stand around here anyways, and I smell another body near by.” he smirked then spun right around and bolted around the corner, grabbing up the caster who had been hiding there. He lifted the man right up off the ground then pulled him right in and sunk his teeth right down into his neck.
Oh god blood. It tasted so good. Oh how he missed hunted down blood. The body drained far too fast for Dem’s taste, but it’s not like he could stop it. He was just that damn hungry. He hadn’t eaten in a few days, that was probably the reason he was so damn hungry in the first place. As the blood filled his body, Dem could feel his strength come back, and he was quite pleased with the sensation of his body coming back to full strength. He then dropped the dead body and wiped his face off, clearing the blood then sucking it off his hand. He felt full, though the hunger never really died inside of him. OF course a vampire could never really get full, they were always hungry, no matter what.

'i just don't B E L O N G. ° ° ° ° ° ° ° ° ° ° ° ° ° ° ° ° ° ° ° ° ° ° ° ° ° ° ° ° ° ° ° ° ° ° ° ° ° ° ° ° ° ° ° ° ° ° ° ° ° ° ° ° ° ° ° ° ° ° ° ° Iris was so incredibly annoyed that she didn't really care who the guy was, how old he was, or what the hell he could do to her. All she cared about was that this kill was her's, and that she didn't like losing. That was her main focus at the present, and she wanted to act on that. So, for now, she was on the defensive, protecting her kill and her integrity as well. She was just so tired of people, really. Why did this random guy need to come here and try to steal her kill? Was there really any reason for it? She highly doubted that he was incapacitated in any way that would make it impossible for him to get his own kill, so there was absolutely no reason he needed to stand there and act like he had claim to her's, for whatever demented reason was running through his mind. These thoughts only made her more infuriated, so much so that she began shaking from feeling such a strong emotion. She wasn't about to take crap from this guy, and she was sure the glare she was directing at him right about now made that abundantly apparent. If he didn't leave her alone in about five seconds she really did swear that she would kill him.
"If I wanted to, I could. It doesn't matter how old you are, what speed you have on your side....none of that matters. You don't know how many people I've killed. Really, I could figure out a way. Don't you dare doubt my abilities." Iris said this with venom in her voice. She was, after all, an assassin. Killing was what she did for a living. She had killed plenty of creatures, even some vampires, surely some creatures that seemed to have some sort of physical advantage over her. However, Ivy had always found a way of outwitting them, outdoing them, and conquering them. It was what she did the best, so, there was no reason she should be scared of this guy. She was fairly confident, that, if he did try anything, she could shoot it right back at him without much trouble at all, unless he was really, really as powerful as he seemed to think he was. She rolled her eyes at the 'pathetic' statement, not even deeming that important enough to respond to. Damn, he was getting on her nerves. Her left hand twitched slightly and then curled into a fist, the right following suit, as he threw insult after insult her way. She was just about to spring to attack him when he randomly decided he was done and dashed around the corner, out of her range of sight.
Even though this was exactly what Iris had been hoping for, with the male leaving, it only made her more furious. How dare he run away from her right before she was about to attack! Also, it left her a tad bit confused, because he had seemed to want a good fight just as badly as she had wanted. So, channeling that fury, confusion, and disgust that she was feeling, she dashed around the corner. She wasn't surprised to see that he had found another kill, really, they weren't too hard to find around here...it was almost as if the stupid casters wanted to be killed! She didn't stop dashing, either, once she rounded the corner, merely kept running full speed, threw herself at the body, and shoved the guy aside. Or, atleast, she tried to. She was angry now, using all her energy to shove him aside, hoping he would move just so she could piss him off and take his kill. Sort of like her own personal revenge, even though he hadn't technically taken her kill, just threatened her with the thought of him doing it. She decided she wanted this fight, and welcomed anything he brought to it.
